周胜强(黄少祺饰)陈进辉(陈冠霖饰)与方耀武(江宏恩饰)是共赴东南亚发展的结拜兄弟。某天三人冒险从事走私活动,却因“鬼王”(霍正奇饰)使其关系产生变化。 鬼王为夺回钻石,追杀周胜强等人,后因方耀武为自保,导致替周胜强挡下子弹的陈进辉跌下山崖。之后失忆的陈进辉被鬼王的女儿明娜(许钧钧饰)救起带到日本发展,并改名青木洋介。 陈进辉失踪后,妻子江碧玉(廖苡乔饰)与长子陈子维(楚翔饰)因走投无路而被高世贤(江国宾饰)救下,而后发现怀上遗腹女陈晓春(林萱瑜饰)。 因为当时的错误让周胜强心理过不去并因此被方耀武制衡。28年后的方耀武除了自有的大方营造外另也因受惠于周胜强持有胜发集团股份。关系变化后他们为了财富而产生冲突,像是方耀武指示儿子和胜发集团抢标案。 周胜强因为心里过不去而持续寻找陈进辉的亲人,但没有发现母亲的看护江碧玉与自己胜发集团旗...。The subtitle of Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet’s first feature, from 1965, “Only Violence Helps Where Violence Reigns,” suggests the fierce political program evoked by their rigorous aesthetic. The pretext of the film, set in Cologne, is Heinrich Böll’s novel “Billiards at Half Past Nine,” which they strip down to a handful of stark events and film with a confrontational angularity akin to Bartók’s music that adorns the soundtrack. The subtlest of cues accompany the story’s complex flashbacks. The middle-aged Robert Fähmel tells a young hotel bellhop of persecutions under the Third Reich| his elderly father, Heinrich, an architect famed for a local abbey, recalls the militarism of the First World War, when his wife, Johanna, incurred trouble for insulting the Kaiser. A third-generation Fähmel is considering architecture, just as the exiled brother of Robert’s late wife, returns, only to be met by their former torturer, now a West German official taking part in a celebratory parade of war veterans. Straub and Huillet make the layers of history live in the present tense, which they judge severely.
